Obertauern - holidays in paradise
In the early 20th century, the elevations here of 1,639 - 2,350 m above sea level produced a sense of fear and even terror among most of the general public.
If it were not for a small group of visionaries, who saw the potential to develop this high-alpine area for tourism, a winter paradise would never have been created there on the pass heights with its small chapel. A paradise not only appreciated by top-flight competitive athletes, but also by thousands of winter sports fans from around the world, drawn here year in and year out.
